Sunflowers—Sunflowers make me feel happy. They come in a variety of fascinating bight colors and sizes: yellow, orange, maroon, red and other colors. When growing outdoors, young sunflowers will follow the sun east to west from morning till night. Despite the fact that they are grown commercially for their seed and oil, Sunflowers can be a captivating vision when cut and assembled in a vase or pot. Here I have painted ten sunflowers, golden yellow in color and assembled in a tall clay pot.
Ladybug--Folklore says that a person’s wish is granted if a ladybug lands on them. Also, tradition says that if you capture a ladybug; make a wish, and then "blow it away" back home your wish will come true. Somewhere in all my flower paintings you will find your lady bug.
